Lemon does two things to green tea: it brightens the cup and it takes the edge off any astringency. The result is the easiest green tea to drink if you have not got on with plain green tea before — light, citrus-fresh and clean, with nothing added to sweeten it.
Tasting notes. Bright lemon citrus over a soft green tea base, crisp and refreshing hot or chilled.
How to brew? Steep one bag in 200 ml of water at about 80°C for two to three minutes. For iced tea, brew two bags in 250 ml, let it cool, and pour over ice.
What is inside? Green tea with natural lemon flavouring. No sugar added. [Confirm the flavouring declaration against pack artwork.]
The tea bag. Staple-free, naturally crimped filter paper, microwave safe.
QUESTIONS ANSWERED
Does this contain sugar? No. It is flavoured, not sweetened, and stays under one calorie a cup.
Can I make iced lemon green tea with it? Yes, and it is one of the better uses for it. Brew at double strength, cool, then pour over ice with a slice of lemon.
