Old Harbor Assam Black Tea is a full-bodied CTC from the Brahmaputra valley, cut and rolled so it gives up colour and strength quickly — the cup Indian households actually want. Each bag carries 2 g of tea rather than the 1.5 g most commodity tea bags are filled to, so it stands up to milk and sugar without turning thin.

Tasting note:

Malty and brisk, with a deep coppery liquor and a clean, drying finish.

How to brew

For milk chai, steep one bag in 150 ml of freshly boiled water for two to three minutes, then add hot milk and sugar to taste. For black tea, two minutes is enough. One bag makes one strong cup.

What is inside

Indian Assam black tea (CTC). No colour, no added flavour, no blending with other origins. [Confirm net weight and batch declaration against pack artwork.]

The tea bag

Staple-free, naturally crimped filter paper. No metal staple, no adhesive and no plasticiser, which is why the bag is safe to use in a microwave.

QUESTIONS ANSWERED

How many cups does one pack make?

One hundred — one bag per cup. At 2 g a bag this is a genuine full-strength cup rather than a half-measure.

Can I use this for kadak chai on the stove?

Yes. Drop two bags into 300 ml of boiling water and milk, simmer for three minutes and press the bags before removing them.
