Orange Strawberry Jasmine Tea Granita
Summer is here and granita is the perfect dish to make this time of the year. A very refreshing frozen slush, bursting with fruity and floral notes, you will surely love this. The jasmine tea adds the perfect floral touch to it and gives it a unique flavour.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup water
- 1 jasmine green tea bag
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup finely chopped strawberries (fresh or frozen)
- 1/2 tsp orange zest
Method:
- Bring water to a boil and turn off the flame.
- Steep the jasmine green tea bag in the boiling water for two minutes.
- Discard the tea bag and add in the sugar.
- Once it has cooled a little, add in the orange juice, orange zest and strawberry pieces and mix.
- Pour this mixture into a flat pan. The mixture should ideally be 1-2 inches in depth.
- Place the pan in the freezer. Using a fork, stir the mixture every 30-45 minutes, until it is frozen as ice crystals. This will take about 3 hours. Scoop into glasses and serve.
